If you’ve got a student card, whether you are full time or not, it’s always worth asking at the till if you get a discount. A lot of stores want to see a NUS student card so its worth buying one of these and if you travel the international ISIC card is worth paying a little more for so you get discounts worldwide. Many local cafes and restaurants near university campuses offer discounts and a lot of other shops do too. You just need to ask.

Studentbeans.com have a bunch of discounts and freebies for students including for travel, clothes and cinema tickets. Sign up to get their alert emails so you can save money now.

myunidays.com have an app (and website) that get you money off at heaps of stores across the UK.

Get cheap rail fares

The 16-25 railcard gets you a third off train tickets and also other discounts. It’s not only available to 16-25 year olds – it’s also available for those who are older if they are studying full time at an eligible institution.

Get discounted and free cinema tickets

Show your student card at the cinema to get cheaper tickets, or sign up for the E4 Slackers club to get free monthly tickets to the cinema.
