If you’re visiting London, these tips will help orient you in the big city.

To book accommodation I would recommend the following:

To find your way around London on public transport use: http://www.tfl.gov.uk

Because the postcodes in the UK are so specific you can use them to search in google maps or the TFL website and it will give you a fairly accurate point of reference (down to within 10 or so houses distance of where you need to be).

If you don’t have a smartphone with a local data plan to find your way around, then you can pick up a mini A-Z street atlas.

When you land I would recommend buying an oyster card with at least £10 credit on it so that you can use it on public transport (it’ll be the cheapest and easiest option). You can get a refund for the deposit (£5 or so) at the airport as you fly out. See: https://tfl.gov.uk/fares-and-payments/oyster/what-is-oyster

Find discounted tickets to the theatre, sightseeing and attractions.
